”A little about me? Well, I am Charmaine — a 33-year-old autistic woman, student, creative strategist, and founder of The Cut GSO. I move through the world with intention, curiosity, and a deep belief in the power of showing up authentically. I’m not about burnout or busy work — I’m about building systems that work for me, not the other way around. With a natural eye for storytelling and community-building, I’m drawn to spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired. Whether I’m working from the couch in my robe ( yes, my robe!) or putting together a creative event that brings people together, everything I do is rooted in care, clarity, and consistency. I’m driven by purpose, guided by intuition, and always down to shake the table if it means making space for those who’ve been overlooked.”
With a vision as vibrant as the community she serves, Charmaine brings The Cut GSO to life as a sanctuary for Greensboro's creative spirit. As the founding force behind this grassroots arts collective, she combines her passion for artistic expression with a deep commitment to building sustainable spaces where creativity can flourish.
The Cut GSO was born from a simple yet powerful belief: that every artist deserves a platform to shine, and every creative voice matters. While Charmaine leads the way, she envisions The Cut GSO as a truly community-led space, where the collective energy and talents of Greensboro's artists shape its future.
This journey starts with one person, but it's designed to grow with every creative soul who joins our community. The Cut GSO isn't just about individual success—it's about cultivating a thriving ecosystem where artists support artists, where collaboration breeds innovation, and where creativity knows no bounds.
